| Frequently Asked
Questions
Is this program available in all locations, including the
branch offices?
Yes. The program is available all locations. However, the
Employee Referral Program does not apply to the referral of candidates for
sales associate positions.
Must I know the person before making a referral or submitting a
resume?
In general, yes. Our experience teaches that the best candidates
come from personal referrals in which the candidate's attributes are know to
the referring employee. Of course, sometimes you may hear about a qualified
candidate from someone else you know and you are encouraged to refer such a
person under this program.
Where can I find the Employee Referral Program Form?
The policy and the form are available on the Prolific
Technologies, Inc. web-site by following this path: Job Opportunities
>
Employee Referral Program
Policy
Form.
Who will know that a form has been completed on behalf of a
candidate?
Access to the form is limited to the referring employee, the
candidate, and Human Resources Recruitment & Staffing personnel. If the
candidate is hired, the HR Operations Department will receive only Section C of
the form so that it can process the payment. The completed form is not
disclosed to the hiring manager or anyone else, except HR Staffing.
How is the referral bonus payment treated?
It is considered taxable income. The company will "gross up" the
payment so that the referring employee will receive the $1,000 or $2,000
referral bonus. The payment is not benefits-eligible, nor is it included in
determining any type of incentive compensation award.
Assuming I am eligible, when should I expect to receive the
referral bonus?
The referral bonus generally will be paid within two pay periods
after the new hire has completed and submitted Section B of the form. However,
the payment of the referral bonus is contingent upon the referring employee
being in active employment at the time the referral bonus will be paid.
Does the new hire have to be employed by the company for a
minimum amount of time before I can receive the referral bonus?
No. However, the new hire must complete and sign Section B of the
form on his or her start date.
If the individual I refer already has submitted his or her résumé
through other means, can I still submit a referral form?
No.
If I refer someone for a specific open position, but he or
she is hired for a different position, does this disqualify me from receiving
the referral bonus?
No, provided that all of the eligibility criteria are met.
Which department pays for this program?
A central budget will finance this program. Individual
departments are not responsible for the payment of referral bonuses under this
program.
If I have questions about the program, whom should I contact?
You can contact the HR Service Center at (678) 245-4520
